LUBRIPLATE Neptune Launching Base Coat has been used for many decades to launch virtually every type of ship from aircraft carriers to barges. LUBRIPLATE Neptune Launching Base Coat will sustain loads of more than ten tons per square foot at 70°F and can be used in combination with LUBRIPLATE Neptune Launching Slip Coat.

Prior to the application of Base Coat, the ways should be thoroughly dried. Base Coat will not properly
adhere to wet or damp ways. Base Coat must be poured while hot. It should be heated to a temperature
sufficiently high so that it is still in a liquid state at the point of application. Lamination can be avoided by
pouring small areas at a time. The desired thickness should be achieved while the Base Coat is still hot.
Base Coat is typically applied ¼" to ½" thick, but never less than 1/8″. Upon completion of applying the
Base Coat, LUBRIPLATE Neptune Launching Slip Coat may then be applied.
